Read to Achieve, Inc. makes a real impact in the classroom by:
-
using new read-aloud technologies and specialized role-play reading materials designed to improve reading and oral communication skills,
-
providing each classroom with a set of play scripts tailored to integrate all levels of readers together in a small group read-aloud session,
-
providing each classroom with experienced volunteers to demonstrate and facilitate the unique read-aloud sessions,
-
providing opportunities for creative and dramatic expression, allowing every student the opportunity to shine,
-
rewarding students as they learn to read with creativity and expression, and
- allowing each participating student to take two specialized play scripts home to read with their family.
BUILDING CONFIDENT READERS
Many agree that reading is the most important subject for students to learn. Read to Achieve believes that improving reading skills and promoting confidence during student's early years is extremely important, as these skills carry them forward in every other subject in school.
Research indicates that programs which encourage read-aloud methodologies using dramatic hand-gestures and character voices improve reading ability, interest and confidence in students, particularly among lower-level readers. Read to Achieve utilizes a unique and facilitated form of Reader's Theater that has great impact in the classroom, and at home when students involve their family in a read aloud session using the books donated to them. The program serves to make an important school-to-home connection.

We help
children of all stages of ability to be reading stars
through customization, integration, participation and self-expression!!!
Trial studies have shown that using specialized, leveled role-play scripts in the classroom not only increases children’s reading interest, but simultaneously increases their self-esteem as they are able to read with accuracy, at their own level, in front of their peers!!
